Holly Willoughby has decided to take time out from her £1 million Marks & Spencer deal as she remains fearful about her safety following an alleged kidnap and murder plot against her, according to reports.

The 42-year-old ITV star has fronted collections by the fashion brand since 2018 but she has reportedly stepped away for a while as she focuses on her family, much like she did with her TV presenting as she quit This Morning in the wake of the alleged plot. As part of her M&S deal, Holly fronts a number of 'capsule' collections each year and also shares tips an advice on the brand's website.

Holly's decision comes after shopping centre security officer Gavin Plumb was arrested and charged with soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap. Plumb has denied the charges.

The ordeal surrounding the allegations has reportedly left Holly unable to consider working at the moment and she has also paused her seven-figure contract with L'Oreal, where she is the face of Garnier Nutrisse hair dye. The mother-of-three is also said to be considering her future with ITV's Dancing on Ice, which she had hosted with Phillip Schofield before he quit the channel.

Stephen Mulhern is heavily tipped to replace Schofield but Holly is yet to decide whether she will be part of the show, with ITV saying that they will give Holly 'as long as she likes' to make her decision. However, with the 2024 show launch just weeks away, a decision will have to be made soon.

The Daily Mail has reported that a source close to Holly said: "Holly is still absolutely traumatised and her priority is her family right now. She decided to take time away from the limelight for a while and just concentrate on dealing with the situation. It has been very sad for her and everyone around her and she is dealing with it in the best way she can.

"So with that in mind, she just wants time with her family to heal. Everyone she has been working with has been so understanding and kind while she deals with all of this. Holly absolutely loves both Marks & Spencer and L'Oreal; they are brands that are very close to her heart."

In November, Plumb pleaded not guilty to charges relating to an alleged plot to kidnap and murder the TV presenter at Chelmsford Crown Court. He is also accused of encouraging a third party to travel to the UK to carry out the alleged offences. According to the charges, he allegedly "solicited, encouraged, persuaded, endeavoured to persuade" a third party to murder Mrs Willoughby, 42.

Plumb, of Potters Field, Harlow pleaded not guilty to the charges of soliciting to commit murder and incitement to kidnap as he appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court .
