PGA Tour issued blunt warning by pro over Jon Rahm's LIV Golf links
Eddie Pepperell has warned the PGA Tour that they could well be 'in trouble' after Masters champion Jon Rahm was linked with a shock move to their LIV Golf rivals.
Rahm has become the latest big-name player rumoured to be making the Saudi switch to the LIV setup. A whole host of stars including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Cam Smith have already opted to sign on the dotted line with Greg Norman and co over the past 18 months.
And the potential departure of Rahm would be yet another huge blow for PGA Tour bosses with the world No. 3 one of the biggest names in the sport, the defending Masters champion and a star for Europe at the recent Ryder Cup.

Amid the speculation, DP World Tour star Pepperell had a strong warning for the American-based circuit. Addressing the reported £300 million signing-on fee said to be on the table for Rahm, the Englishman wrote on X: "This idea that ‘everybody has a price’ is nonsense, and untrue.

"And it demotes human beings in terms of their capacity to have principles and stick to them That being said, Rahm seems a loyal guy so if he goes, it spells trouble for the PGAT [PGA Tour] leadership, and probably rightly so."

It still remains to be seen whether Rahm will make the move, but whilst he has remained fairly neutral in the feud between the PGA Tour and LIV, it would still come as quite the surprise. Speaking last December, Rahm admitted money was not a motivator for him when competing on the course, making the Saudi-backed league a path he would not choose to go down.
“If you play good, you’re going to end up making money and be able to take care of yourself,” the Spaniard said per Golf Channel. “It’s not why I started playing, it’s not the reason why I play. So when I’m doing my schedule, when I’m practicing and I’m getting my things done, money is not really on my mind.
"If it was, I probably might have gone to LIV, right? If money is your goal, that’s clearly the path to go down. Every decision I make when it comes to golf is to become the best player I can become.” More recently, Rahm revealed he would 'laugh' when rumours linked him to the LIV setup.
"I laugh when people rumour me with LIV Golf. I never liked the format," he told the Golf Sin Etiquetas podcast in August." Two of Rahm's closest friends in the game, Mickelson and Sergio Garcia both opted to join in the initial wave of defectors last summer.
But even his LIV loyalist pals had advised him not to follow in their footsteps. "I always have a good time with Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia in the practice rounds of majors," Rahm added. Phil [Mickelson] respects my decision, and I respect his [choice]. Mickelson has told me that I have no reason to go play for LIV, and he has told me that multiple times.”
