Thierry Henry has claimed that he is no longer recognised for his time at Arsenal, instead being approached by fans for his work on CBS.

Henry earned legendary status at the Gunners, winning two Premier League titles and two FA Cups. He was named FWA Footballer of the Year three times and won the top-flight golden boot four times during his eight years at the club, before joining Barcelona.

Even now, he remains Arsenal's record goalscorer, record European goalscorer and has won the most player of the year awards in the club's history. Since retiring, Henry has worked as a coach, but has made his name more for being part of the popular CBS Champions League coverage.

The Frenchman works for the broadcaster alongside Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher and former Premier League winner Micah Richards. The trio, along with host Kate Abdo, have become hugely popular for the show, in which they regularly make jibes at each other.

Clips from the show frequently go viral, even though it is not available to watch in the UK. And the reach from it has left Henry surprised, with fans now approaching him for that work, rather than his time at Arsenal.

"My career wasn't s***e, sorry to say, but I get as many compliments now from what I did on the field as with CBS. Sometimes people come up to me and ask for a picture," Henry told The Sun.

"I expect they will say they love Arsenal or Barcelona or the French national team, whatever it is...but they say, 'No, I love you on CBS'. There is a difference between fitting in, which is what I felt I was doing in some shows before, and here I belong.

"There is great energy, we can laugh, we can talk about war, we can talk about anything. Sometimes it's a bit edgy, that is how a family is. That's why it's the best show I've been on. If you can educate and entertain people and relate also then you are not far from people loving your show."

As well as being a pundit for CBS, Henry also works as the manager for France's Under-21s side. And the former striker is using what he learned under legendary Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to help him.

"Being a manager is about asking the question: can you make your players more intelligent, understand football a bit better? Arsene Wenger, when I arrived to Arsenal, opened up my spirit and my mind as a continuation of what I learned at the academy at Clairefontaine," Henry told Telefoot.

" Pep Guardiola opened my eyes. It was him that made me understand that pressing was good. As an attacker in general, and you know this week, that you don't normally want to do these things."
