Tyson Fury's net worth compared to Ryan Reynolds after fight call-out

Tyson Fury would make easy work of Ryan Reynolds if the pair did meet in the ring, but the Hollywood star is worth significantly more than 'The Gypsy King'.

Heavyweight world champion Fury challenged Reynolds to a fight following Wrexham's 6-0 victory over Morecambe last week. Fury, who lives in Morecambe, wasn't happy after his side were smashed by Reynolds' co-owned Wrexham as star striker Paul Mullin bagged a hat-trick.

Wrexham are currently five points behind EFL League Two leaders Stockport whilst Fury's Morecambe sit in 12th place. Both Fury and Reynolds are at the very top of their respective professions, as the heavyweight champion is currently preparing for an undisputed world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk. With all of that being said, let's look at how the pair's net worths stack up...

Tyson Fury

The 6'9" giant has an estimated net worth of around £180million, making him one of the wealthiest boxers of this generation. Fury's most recent eight-figure payday was a massive £50million for his crossover fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou last month.

Fury was left battered and bruised as needed to pick himself up off the canvas to win by just a single point on the judges' scorecards. 'The Gypsy King' was also likely paid a nice amount for his Netflix series 'At Home with the Furys', however he turned down millions of pounds to film a second series of the show and even offered Netflix money to halt filming of the first series.

The Brit could earn upwards of £100million for his upcoming fight against Usyk but has always maintained that money has never been his main motivation. Fury's dad John seemed to indicate that his son's stance on money has changed in recent years as he described his current fortune as "chicken feed".

"He's gone round and seen them and thought 'hang on, I've got chicken feed compared to these boys, and I think it's bothered him because he's realised his money isn't a lot of money," John said. "That's how his mind works, he wants to be on the same level as them boys! Being around people with trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars, it's going to make you think about money yourself."

"They have made Tyson feel inept with his few quid!" That's why he wants more. A lot of money to you, a lot of money to me, I'll never see anything like that. I wouldn't see the small change off it, I wouldn't want to, but that's where he's at now. He's moved onto the money goal because the Saudis have inspired him to make more money."

Ryan Reynolds

Reynolds is one of Hollywood's biggest stars having featured in the likes of movies The Proposal and the immensely successful Deadpool franchise. The actor moved into the sporting world three years ago as his huge fortune allowed him and Rob McElhenney to buy Wrexham as the pair have turned the club around for the better.

The 47-year-old has a reported net worth of £270million, which is £150million more than what he was worth last year. Reynolds was paid around £1.5million for the original Deadpool movie back in 2016 but backend points saw him pocket another took home £17million as a result.

Reynolds was laughing all the way to the bank when the company Mint Mobile, which he owned a reported 25 percent of, was sold to T-Mobile for £1billion earlier this year. The deal likely pocketed him around £230million and followed on from his successes with Aviation Gin in 2020. The drinks company was reported to be worth over £470million and Reynolds owned 10 percent of it.

McElhenney joked that he wouldn't have been able to buy Wrexham without Reynolds funds as he told The Late Show: “I needed movie star money, I need superhero money. It turns out pounds are heavier than dollars. From the very beginning we promised the community they would come first, we wear our hearts on our sleeves. We do what we say and we say what we’re going to do."
