Sean Dyche says other clubs will be worried by claims Everton could be docked points again for breaching more financial rules last season.

The club must post their figures for 2022-23 by the end of the year and the Premier League can fast-track any punishment before the end of May. Chelsea and Manchester City are potentially going to be dragged into the spotlight and Dyche says other clubs could be examined.

“I’ve not been told anything other than what we’ve heard so far,” said the Everton boss. “We were stunned – football was stunned – with the outcome of 10 points. Who knows what comes next? Not just for us, but for many others I’d imagine. The way it’s sounding from the noise out there, it’ll not just be about us. There’ll be others looked at possibly over time.”

Dyche insists he is not fretting about any more possible points deductions. He said: “It’s more about the factual side of what’s gone on. The 10 points are not currently there, so we have to crack on.”

City found out on Thursday that they will face a trial in autumn 2024 as they continue to fight more than 100 alleged charges levelled at them by the Premier League. It is understood that the highly confidential process is currently at the stage where statements are being taken from witnesses, which could be the case up until next spring.

The champions have won the last three league titles and are eyeing an unprecedented fourth despite the questions hanging over them. Guardiola though insists everyone wants to see them punished.

He said last weekend: "We are innocent until guilt is proved. I know the people want it (City punished). I know, I feel it. I will wait and see, and after the sentence has been done we will come here and explain."

Guardiola also stated he would remain whatever the outcome, despite previously claiming he would depart if the club, who maintain their innocence, had lied to him. He said: "Absolutely, I will not consider my future (if) it depends being here or being in League One. There is more chance to stay if we are in League One than if we were in the Champions League."
