Married At First Sight star Luke Worley has admitted he and wife Jay Howard “never loved each other”.
The pair seemed like they were perfect for each other when they were first matched on the E4 reality show, which sees couples marry partners picked out by a team of experts without meeting them beforehand.
But cracks began to show when Luke hinted Jay was a bit of a pushover and told the lads he thought that even if he took another woman’s number on a night out he could probably get away with it. After confronting Luke, Jay appeared to patch things up with her husband but the couple were then kicked off the show when Jay got in a fight with fellow groom Jordan Gayle.
They planned to continue their relationship on the outside, but in the end the distance between them, with Luke living in Essex and Jay in Lancashire, got too much and it was clear they were no longer together in the reunion episode.
Viewers watched as Jay admitted she felt "a little bit awkward" around Luke at the final dinner party as she hadn’t seen him for a few weeks. When he asked why, she said it was because they hadn't spoken about "the situation." He then hit back: "There's nothing more to say. I can't give you what you need from me.”

Things got heated between Jay and Luke at the final dinner party (E4)Luke then claimed Jay had led him to believe he wasn’t good enough for her, which she denied ever saying and added: “I just said to you that I'm sick to death of chasing someone who doesn't want to be chased.” A tearful Jay added: "All I'm asking for is for you to tell me how you f***ing feel. And you don't even f***ing do that." She later told the camera "I know that he cares about me, but if you don't want to be with me just say it. Say it straight, I'm a big girl I can take it, that's fine."
Now Luke has claimed he and Jay were never in love. He told BBC Radio Essex: “So when people watch me on MAFS [Married At First Sight], they only got to see the character that the show wanted them to see of me. I want to show people who I actually am."
He continued: "People seem to think you are like in love after two weeks for one, you’re not. Me and Jay never told each other we loved each other. It was building to that. We was falling for each other, but I don’t actually believe, from my side, I could see me starting to fall in love with Jay, but it wasn’t like, ‘I’m in love with you’. And she never said that either, so we I believe she is the same. We had strong feelings for each other.”
