Meghan Markle's biggest personal battles exposed in leaked private letters
The Royal Family has been thrown into turmoil after private letters exchanged between Meghan Markle and King Charles were shown to author Omid Scobie.
The letters are discussed in his latest book Endgame and are said to name two members of the Royal Household who allegedly expressed "concerns" about "how dark" Meghan's son would be when he was born. The Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry previously made the allegations during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, but didn't name those involved.
Omid has also kept their identities hidden as he explained "laws in the United Kingdom prevent me from reporting who they were". However, a passage in the Dutch translation seems to name the two Royals at the centre of the race row. The Mirror has chosen not to publish the names of those in question.

Meghan had a good relationship with her father growing up, but things have gotten increasingly tense between the pair. In fact, Thomas hasn't seen Meghan and Harry in five years.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the accusations in an interview with Oprah Winfrey (Harpo Productions/Joe Pugliese v)As Meghan and Harry's wedding day approached back in 2018, Thomas began to make headlines. He became the centre of a media scandal after he was caught staging paparazzi pictures preparing for the royal wedding in exchange for payment.
While Kensington Palace had initially confirmed that Meghan's father would be at the wedding to give her away, he later said he would no longer be going after the fallout from the paparazzi photos. Thomas said the pictures had made him look "stupid and hammy". The Palace later confirmed he would not be attending his daughter's wedding, however, they cited health issues as the reason.

After the letter was released, Meghan took legal action against Associated Newspapers, who printed extracts of the handwritten document. Her solicitors said the letter was "obviously private correspondence" and she did not expect the contents to be made public.
The UK's Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Meghan. The court upheld a London High Court ruling that Associated Newspapers had violated Meghan's privacy with the publication of the letter.
The publishing group had appealed the decision and tried to argue that Meghan would have known the letter could be leaked. The Court of Appeal rejected the argument and said the letter's contents were "personal, private and not matters of legitimate public interest".
