EastEnders may have teased Stacey Slater's killer link to the big Christmas Day episode, with hints Theo Hawthorne could be leaving very soon.

The latest episode may have dropped a major hint if recent clues and theories are anything to go by. A moment between Theo and Stacey recently and now the events in the latest visit to Walford could well tease a festive showdown ahead, resulting in a shocking murder.

After all, it was heavily hinted he was leaving the show after a twist on Tuesday night, but not necessarily in a body bag. That said, fans are convinced despite the twist in question, we have not seen the last of the villain and he could be back.

Viewers know that a mystery male character dies in the big episode, with six female characters at the scene of the crime - The Queen Vic. Now, a new spoiler has confirmed a huge event being held at the pub in this very episode, which could give away the identity of the victim who dies.

For months fans have tried to work out what happens in the scenes and who dies, as well as who the killer is. Clues along the way, and in the special flashforward scene that aired in February, have hinted at what goes down but nothing is concrete.

Stacey is one of the suspects, and in the preview clip we see her covered in blood as she stares at the dead body on the floor. Amid her drama with Theo, fans have long wondered whether he may be the victim and if Stacey could kill him.

Theo joined the soap earlier this year as an old teacher of Freddie Slater, and he quickly became close with the family. Stacey was grateful for Theo's support, especially when she realised she was being stalked and harassed by a subscriber of her SecretCam account.

Things escalated with Stacey's house being trashed, while she also received flowers and messages and threats, not to mention her private photos being leaked of her in lingerie. Things only got worse when Theo, who is obsessed with Stacey and is convinced she loves him, revealed all to the character.

He tried to rape her, but Freddie walked in on the attack and repeatedly punched Theo almost killing him. Theo revealed all to the police, but in recent episodes Stacey has taken action to try and get him on side to bring an end to her misery.

On Monday, Stacey was alarmed as Theo made contact on the day of his plea hearing. She tried to manipulate him into pleading guilty, promising to restart their ‘relationship’ once he’s served his time. He reacted badly, but soon came round and shocked her on Tuesday as he pled guilty to his crimes.

Stacey was relieved, but knew it didn't necessarily mean he was out of her life for good. She also knew what Theo was expecting, so how will he react once he realises he's been tricked?

Fans may have noticed during the episode, Stacey was wearing red which happens to be the colour of the dress she wears at Christmas. Could this be a hint that Theo could take revenge in the episode, leading to him being the dead body?

Perhaps he won't be here at Christmas though, as his guilty plea could land him in prison. But viewers are convinced he will be back, with one writing on X: "I feel this isn’t the last of him," as another said: "Still think it’ll be short lived," as a third said: "I don't think it's the end of Theo."
