A woman's simple mistake during a waxing appointment left her feeling mortified after she got the rules hilariously wrong.

Waxing is a treatment that can be a saviour for those beauty fans who like to keep themselves well-maintained, not only does it make life easier, but it also means you don't have to worry about unwanted hair growth for weeks.

However, those who get waxing done know there are a few unwritten etiquette rules in preparation for the appointment - and one woman was left red-faced after getting it so wrong.

TikTok user Julie, who goes by the name @jxli3_m, shared her cringeworthy ordeal online when she went for her first ever Hollywood wax - also known as a Brazillian wax.

Claiming that she had never had one done before, she thought she had followed all of the preparation rules ahead of the appointment, but she paid a painful price for following them so literally.

"Thinking about the time I got my first Hollywood wax I was told to take off my underwear," she began her video. But she then revealed she took off all of her clothes. Julie added: "But I proceeded to take off all my clothes and laid on the waxing table completely naked."

When a Brazilian wax is done, you are typically asked to remove clothing and underwear from the waist down, however, Julie removed all clothing from head to toe. She recalled: "Never been so embarrassed" as she looked back on the ordeal. The viral video has racked up thousands of views from beauty fans laughing at her easy blunder.

"If you can hear the way I'm cackling right now," one user laughed, while another added: "The way I would have played dead." However, one beautician came to the rescue to try and reassure her and told her she wasn't alone and said: "Awww that's not that bad. You'd be surprised how many people have done this." Whereas another TikTok user wrote: "Wait, so that's not normal?"

A fourth penned: "Just sitting there like a Thanksgiving turkey, I'm dead," alongside a laughing emoji. "You gave them the Hollywood treatment instead," another jibed.
