Richard Madeley didn't hold back when discussing the latest Strictly Come Dancing results.

The Good Morning Britain host, 67, talked about Sunday's episode with co-host Susanna Reid, where Angela Scanlon was the ninth celebrity to be eliminated. Angela, 39, found herself in the dreaded dance-off withLayton Williams, where the latter was saved by the judges.

Talking about the results on Monday's GMB, Richard said: "I have to say, just going back to Strictly, I thought Angela did a better dance. Watching it, I thought she danced better than Layton on the night!"

Susanna, 52, and co-star Ranvir Singh, who have both taken part on Strictly, then pointed out a show trend. Susanna admitted the Cha Cha, which Angela had performed, is always a "nightmare" and it was her own worst dance on the show. Ranvir then pointed out in the "history of Strictly", a lot of celebrities leave on either the Cha Cha or Rumba.

During Sunday's show, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Layton and Nikita. However, head judge Shirley Ballas said she would have decided to save Angela and Carlos. Shirley said: "Well important for me always when it comes to Ballroom and Latin is the character of the dance, that it’s true to the dance, timing and quality and I would have voted for Angela and Carlos."

When asked by host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Angela said: "It’s been honestly incredible, I’m gutted, really gutted that it’s finished now, but it has been the most wonderful experience. I have made the best friend in this man [to Carlos].

"We have had so much fun, he is such an incredible guy. He has supported me and picked me up and made me laugh so much. I don’t know what to say, it’s been magical honestly – all of those people up there! My husband at home, my two little girls and all my friends!"

While her dance partner Carlos added: "Her commitment and her strength every day, day by day – I’m a professional dancer and she works so hard, harder than me! Look at her now – I am so proud, her sense of humour and we had so much fun everyday – she cracks me up laughing!"
