Meghan Markle 'reached out' to Omid Scobie after he was 'harassed' over Royals

Meghan Markle had a heart-to-heart with Omid Scobie after learning he had been harassed online, despite the Royal author trying to insist they aren't friends.

Omid has made a number of bombshell claims about the Royal Family in recent years and is set to expose more about The Firm in his new book Endgame, which will be released tomorrow. The book has been described as "a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy".

Amid the drama, Omid has received threats on social media. It's now been revealed that in 2018, the Duchess of Sussex personally reached out to him on his mobile phone to check in on his welfare.

The call came about after a member of Meghan's team told her he had been dealing with threats and harassment. According to The Telegraph, details of the phone call will be published in Endgame.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Omid admitted he often felt like he was "caught up in a family drama" between the Sussexes and the Royals. He explained how Meghan had reached out to him "just to check in" and to see "if he was okay".

Omid also told hosts that despite rumours, he's actually "not even that close" with Harry and Meghan. He also insisted he "never chose Team Sussex".

Despite the seemingly close connection, Omid has spoken out about claims he is friends with the Duchess of Sussex. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said: "And let's get this nonsense out the way - #ENDGAME is about the current state of the British Royal Family. It's not 'Harry and Meghan’s book', I'm not 'Meg’s pal', the Sussexes have nothing to do with it, their story is a small part of a much bigger one you can read in 12 days."

While Omid, who was once dubbed Meghan's mouthpiece, has distanced himself from the Sussexes, Meghan sensationally admitted that a former aide gave the author help with his first book Finding Freedom.

The biography, which was released in August 2020 and details Harry and Meghan's married life and their split from the Royal Family, was supposedly unauthorised. But it emerged in court last year that Meghan did know about it.

Endgame is set to reveal a lot about the Royal Family. The book's description reads: "An unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family."

Sussex insiders have insisted Meghan and Harry had nothing to do with his new book. Speaking to the Daily Mail, they also denied that Omid is a part of the "Sussex Camp".
