Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have reacted to Wrexham's latest result, a 6-0 home win over Morecambe, with the team getting back to winning ways after seeing their 11-game unbeaten run come to an end with a 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley.
"When you get beat it’s good to get back out on the training ground and it’s been a decent week for us," manager Phil Parkinson said after the loss, looking ahead to Saturday's clash with Morecambe.
"It’s about not being too down about it [speaking about the defeat against Accrington] but also an acceptance that we need to do better in certain areas. We need to move on quickly and training has been a good, high standard and we’re looking forward to what will be a terrific game.”
And Parkinson was right.. They hit their opponents for six, with Paul Mullin netting a hat-trick to position Wrexham inside the top two in League Two. "Just another hat-trick for Paul Mullin. Just incredible," Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney said, reacting to the result. Reynolds, meanwhile, said: "Incredible hustle today."
Parkinson was pleased that his team rose to the challenge he issued mid-week. The manager, who oversaw promotion to the Football League last season, talked up the group's "determination.

"We're not used to losing (in last week's defeat to Accrington Stanley) and it hurts to lose and it doesn't matter how many games you've managed, it never gets easier," he said. "But once the game has gone, there's nothing you can do about it apart from look to the next one and how we're going to respond, and the training has been outstanding this week.
"You could sense there was a determination in the group and what a way to respond with an emphatic 6-0 victory. So obviously, we're very pleased and this is a good day's work for us because Morecambe are a dangerous team on the counter-attack."
Wrexham manager Parkinson called on his team to do better following the defeat to Accrington Stanley (Getty)League Two is hotly contested and there are three automatic promotion spots to League 1. Wrexham currently sits five points behind league leaders Stockport, while just seven points separate themselves and seventh-place Accrington Stanley.
Up next for Parkinson's men is a date with Harrogate Town, who find themselves near the middle of the 24-man pack in 15th. They are, however, heading into the fixture off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Crawley Town.
After that, Wrexham will contest an FA Cup second-round tie with Yeovil Town in early December.
