Moment women fake using Asda self-service tills and leave with £300 of Lego
This was the moment two notorious shoplifters brazenly walked out of a supermarket, taking hundreds of pounds worth of Lego.
Yasmin Leech and Shakita Maximilian tried to steal boxes of the building toys worth £300 from an Asda branch in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Their bold crime, part of a shoplifting spree which saw them and two others pocket more than £1,400 of goods from various shops in the city, was picked up on CCTV.
Leech, 34, and 25-year-old Maximilian were seen making a beeline for the supermarket's toy section before grabbing the Lego boxes, shovelling them into bags and heading for the exit without paying. The two were sentenced alongside Emma Fraser and Shaun Fitzgerald for the spree.
They stuffed hundreds of pounds worth of Lego into carrier bags and walked out (South Yorkshire Police)Leech was convicted of one theft and sentenced on November 16, while Maximilian was convicted of four thefts in total after also plundering £60 worth of boxsets from HMV, £151 worth of chocolate, chilled goods from an off-license, and two t-shirts from JD Sports. Doncaster magistrates court also heard how Fraser, 32, swiped more than £500 worth of goods from a Co-op, One Stop, and a pharmacy. She was jailed for 16 weeks at the hearing on Saturday, November 18, after being found guilty.
Fitzgerald, a notorious thief, was caught stealing £70 worth of meat and chocolate from a Tesco store by hiding the items under his coat. The 55-year-old man from Doncaster was sentenced to eight weeks in jail.

He added: "We want Doncaster to be a safe and welcoming place for people to live, work, shop and visit, and we are determined to tackle retail crime to make sure that happens."
Sergeant Roberts also warned shoplifters: "We are watching you, and if you are caught, there is a very real prospect of you being sent to prison."
