Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Leach admits she didn't do much exercise before the show, but is now 'amazed' by how much her body has changed.

The former Coronation Street actress, 22, is among the favourites to lift the Glitterball trophy in the series finale December alongside her professional partner, Vito Coppola, 31. The pair, who are rumoured to be dating, have "great fun" during their rehearsals, according to Ellie and now the actress has opened up about another benefit of their training regime.

Speaking about her physical transformation, she said: "We train really hard, from nine till six every day. I've never really done much activity before, so I'm seeing my body changing."

Ellie went on tot reveal she has struggled with body confidence as she thanked Strictly for making her realise how much "sass" she had. She explained: "As a young woman growing up in the public eye, it's intense. Strictly has given me a new found confidence that I've never really had before. When you've got the costumes on, you feel great and you go out there and smash it. It feels amazing," reports Closer magazine.

The actress said she had tried to get fit in the past, but never had the motivation, telling OK! Magazine.: "I've never really been into physical activity or going to the gym and stuff like that. But I've always loved watching people dance. So to be able to learn how to do it now, it's amazing. My body and my mindset are changing so much each day. I don't know how much weight I've lost but I can feel myself getting stronger, which I think is great."

The Faye Windass star certainly seems to have caught Vito's eye after he referred to Ellie as "My baby" in a gushing Instagram post. The tribute came after former Strictly contestant Amanda Abbington referred to the pair as the "most beautiful couple", sending fans into a frenzy, convinced the couple are dating.

Ellie and Vito are yet to confirm or deny they are in a relationship, but Ellie always speaks about the Italian with fondness in interviews, previously stating he was part of her family, adding he loves her mum's cooking. She also seemed very bubbly on the Lorraine show on Tuesday when the Scottish presenter asked the pair if they were dating.

Appearing live via video in Manchester from rehearsals, Lorraine, 63, wasted no time about asking the duo directly about the rumours. She said: "Look, both of you are single, everybody wants a romance, you're getting on incredibly well... now, look, whatever happens between you, clearly there's a bond there, there's a really good bond. You're going to be friends forever?"

Blushing adorably, the pair laughed before Vito seemed to ignored the romance angle by responding about their friendship instead: He said: "Not just Ellie, Ellie's family, it's become another family for me. Honestly, I've been so so lucky because they are so wonderful and your mum does the best gravy ever. Oh my gosh, I ate an entire pot, honestly! Yes, of course, mates, friends, people who stay in your life forever!"
