Jenna Ortega has reportedly liked an Instagram post in support of her Scream co-star, Melissa Barrera.
Earlier this week, Melissa was fired from the upcoming film Scream 7 where she was supposed to reprise her starring role as Sam Carpenter. Reportedly, Spyglass Media Group "dropped" her because of her vocal support of Palestine in the Israel-Hamas War.
A screenshot posted on Twitter showed Jenna's profile picture and her username under the "liked by" section of a post made by celebrities4palestine, an account that describes itself as: "A page that highlights the support for the Palestinian cause by Worldwide celebrities."

Melissa has starred in movies like In The Heights and Carmen. Variety reported that the Mexican actress' Instagram posts were considered anti-Semitic by Spyglass Media Group, the production company behind the latest Scream film.
A spokesperson for the company told the media outlet: "Spyglass’ stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form."
The statement went on to add: "including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech."
Melissa has shared posts on her social media calling for a ceasefire. Other posts accused Israel of "genocide and ethnic cleansing." According to the Variety article, Melissa is no longer represented by a publicist after being dropped from the newest Scream flick.

Though it is reported to be unrelated, fans believe the star left because Melissa was fired.
The Wednesday actress played Tara Carpenter in the 2022 remake of Scream and the 2023 film Scream VI. She's currently working on finishing up Beetlejuice 2 where she'll play Lydia Deetz's daughter.
The Beetlejuice sequel halted production back in July after the SAG-AFTRA strike began. After the longest actors' union strike in the group's history ended earlier this month, actors are finally back to work after many joined the picket lines in front of production studios.
