Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have been defended by fans after cruel comments about their ages and appearances.

The Princess of Wales, 41, and the Duchess of Sussex, 42, live their lives in the public eye and do a lot of work for good. Earlier this week, Meghan stopped by the Vancouver office of Justice For Girls, a non-profit that helps youngsters in poverty, to chat with interns, staff and board members for a "heartfelt conversation".

During the meeting, they discussed girls' and young women's leadership. Kate meanwhile joined her husband Prince William as they welcomed the South Korean president on his state visit to the UK on Tuesday.

Despite the important work being done by both women, trolls have been flocking to social media to comment about how they look, specifically claiming they look old. Under one picture of Kate on Instagram, one hater said: "She went from young attractive mum to mother of the bride overnight."

Another added: "She's ageing like milk." Meghan has also been faced with the same vile comments, with one person writing: "She’s just plain old Meghan Markle."

However, following cruel comments about Kate after her Remembrance Day appearance, fans had enough and have since been taking to X to share their love for Kate and Meghan.

"It was a sombre day and she has a enough to deal without dealing with agist twits like you," one person fired back at the haters. Another said: "Kate looks her age, which is impressive given that dealing with that disastrous family and all their PR stuff is obviously stressful."

"She looks normal for a mother in her early 40s. I’m much younger than her and my eyes crinkle when I smile. Denigrating her appearance only pressures normal women to obsess over aging. A woman’s worth and character is not determined by her wrinkles," a third person added.

Jumping to Meghan's defence, one fan posted: "Meghan Markle really is beautiful," as they shared a picture of her from Variety's 2023 Power of Women Gala. Another wrote: "Wonderful work from Meghan Markle. She is absolutely glowing. Beautiful Duchess of Sussex."

Royal commentator Jessica Barrett also hit out at people who have been comparing both the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales. Writing in Grazia, she said: "Tearing a woman apart for signs of ageing is one thing, but pitting them against another woman? That’s just cruel, and unfounded."

Jessica added: "If we're choosing to age naturally or we're not, it's entirely personal. And when it comes to criticising Kate Middleton, or comparing her with Meghan Markle, people would do well to remember that her face is quite simply: none of their business."
