Emmerdale will air some sad scenes next week - as two residents go missing and one character leaves for good.
The ITV soap is gearing up for its festive offerings, but Matthew Wolfenden - who plays David Metcalfe - will be departing his role on the programme next week in sad scenes after a huge revelation. Elsewhere, two characters will go missing leaving another character devastatingly worried whilst an affair is at risk of being exposed.
Here's what's coming up on Emmerdale next week with some big scenes ahead including the sad exit of much-loved character David after he finds out the truth about Victoria and Jacob's relationship.
David's sad exit
David will bid farewell to the Dales next weekDavid celebrates his birthday next week - but with rumours swirling about who Jacob's secret girlfriend is, him and Victoria are feeling awkward. David worries that it's a tough subject for Jacob, given what happened with Leanna, but rumours are that it's Gabby.
Despite the gossip, Victoria and Jacob head back to the empty house for a bit of fun but it's cut short when David arrives home. He is keen to meet Jacob's mystery partner, but Jacob refuses - but does tell him that it's Gabby.

When David heads to the pub, he teases an unaware Gabby about what's going on, but Jacob is adamant she will go along with his plan once she knows. Victoria panics as she's lost her bracelet and worries it could be found here, exposing their lies. When Jacob finds it, he entices her into giving him a kiss - but they are unaware David has seen them through the window.
With everything now changed for him, David decides he must leave and heads away from the village once and for all.
Two characters go missing
A terrified Mack is desperate - he has spent days searching for his ex Chloe Harris and their son Reuben. Amy is worried she might never see her sister again, whilst Mack confronts them and begs for news. They are shocked to see him so low.
Charity is adamant that they will get Reuben back, and warns him they all want the same thing. She tells Mack to stay calm and stay on Amy's good side so they can all work together to get what they want.
Sad split for one couple
Is it the end of the road of Nicky and Suni?As Amit makes a decision that he needs to leave the village, Suni tries to convince Laurel to change her mind. Laurel tries to find out from Nicky why Amit punched him, with Amit watching secretly and fearing it will all be revealed.
Suni decides to book a night out with Nicky, Gabby and Ethan - but with Suni not trusting whether Nicky has kept the secret or not, he decides to dump him - before facing instant regret over his actions.
Suni is desperately trying to distance himself from his father and it seems like they might never get their relationship back - will Amit be able to make up to his family before he leaves, and can Suni and Nicky fix their relationship?
An affair risks being exposed
Caleb and Tracy are nearly caught outCaleb and Tracy have been having a secret affair - but there is risk their romance is exposed this week. The pair can't keep themselves away from one another, and they have a passionate kiss. Tracy is left flustered when Caleb suggests they meet back at his.
Later, he enjoys a glass of wine - and hands a second to another person, but has Tracy decided to go to his - or is someone else there?
Tracy is determined to put her thoughts of Caleb behind her and decides to take an afternoon spending with Nate. It's Cain's birthday and the family all gather in the pub. Tracy can barely concentrate with Caleb sat so close to her.
