Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater has slammed “uneducated" online trolls after eh and ex Ella Morgan Clark have been innundated with nasty messages about their relationship on the show.
The 31-year-old famously bonded with Ella Morgan Clark despite being initially matched with hair extensions expert Bianca Petronzi. However, it soon became clear that he and the 29-year-old had a strong connection, with the pair texting and even secretly meeting up.
The infidelity ultimately prompted Ella's first husband, Nathanial Valentino, to quit the show, with the events planner later telling fans that he 'couldn't think of anything worse' than attending the reunion ceremony. “I’m going to leave it now, I’m leaving,” he said in his finale episode as he bid farewell to the other couples. “I don’t want to be here anymore. I think I’ve lost myself in the whole of this storm." Bianca also slammed Ella and JJ for their unfaithful behaviour on the show, calling them "both disgusting" in an expletive-ridden speech over dinner.
JJ and Ella were criticized after cheating on their respective spouses on the show (E4)Ella was allowed to re-enter MAFS with JJ as a couple, as part of a major twist following their cheating scandal. "After initially leaving the show when their marriages failed, Ella and JJ were given permission by the relationship experts to come back, which certainly ruffled feathers among the cast who have taken the process seriously from the beginning," a source revealed.
Ella, who is the first ever transgender bride on the show, ended up quitting social media after receiving a torrent of cruel messages from people online. "I'm going to be taking a break from my socials as it's hard seeing/reading the constant abuse I've received recently, especially the transphobic abuse," the clinic consultant wrote on her Instagram in October. "I'm only human, we all make errors and mistakes we wish we could change. I'm far from perfect". Ella then added that she's "deeply sorry to particular cast members and anyone who is hurt by my actions in the episode," in reference to her extramarital affair with JJ.

"A lot of people are uneducated, and Ella has helped to educate so many people, me included," he told the Mail Online. "Ella is the first trans person that I've ever met... the whole time I was just trying to follow my heart and be kind along the way."
JJ, who remains friends with Ella despite splitting in their final vows, has since called the abuse "so sad." He also revealed his sexuality was repeatedly assumed by strangers online, with many people telling him he must be gay or bisexual to date a transgender woman: “I know who I am and people that know me know who I am," he told the Mail Online.
