Netflix actor, 23, killed in horrific machete attack

Netflix actor Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar has been killed at age 23 following a suspected armed robbery.

Local Columbian media reports that the body of the young actor was found with his hands and feet tied. The Netflix star also had several brutal wounds - believed to have been caused by a machete attack.

Reports also claim the actor's body was 'bludgeoned' in the moments before his tragic death. Kevin, 23, who starred in Netflix film Lavaperros (which translates to Dogwashers), was found dead in La Playita, Tuluá, Valle del Cauca.

Following the tragic discovery of Kevin's body, 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion for his brutal murder.

Speaking to local news outlet Noticias RCN, local police Nicolás Suárez said: "The Valle Police Department reports that thanks to the timely information provided by citizens, the capture of a 19-year-old man was achieved, who had allegedly participated in the homicide of Kevin Andres Munoz Tovar, a renowned actor from a Colombian film.

"The subjects who caused the injuries then fled the scene, but thanks to information from the community, one of them was captured," he added.

Colombian actor Kevin was a much-loved and talented actor who shot to fame in the 2020 Netflix film which was a popular dark comedy about a failing drug kingpin.

After receiving rave reviews in the Netflix movie, Kevin also appeared in Apple TV+ thriller, Echo 3, which also starred the likes of Michiel Huisman, Luke Evans, and Jessica Collins.

Following the shock news of his murder and the horrific details of how his body was found, tributes have been poured in for the late actor with several fans saying that it's a tragedy his life and talent was taken away so soon.

One X user wrote: "Absolutely tragic. So sad to hear this news. The good ones are always taken too soon." Another echoed: "Rest in peace Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar. You were one in a million."

Someone else shared: "It is with great sadness that I learned today of the violent death of Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar, who played Yoiner in the movie ‘Lavaperros’. He was 23-years-old and had a promising future in music and acting. Rest in peace."

"What an absolute tragedy and what a horrible way to leave this life. He must have been so scared. Thinking of his family and loved ones at this heartbreaking time," another wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
