Grandma bans grandson from Christmas because of his realisation about Santa
As some families decide not to bring their children up to believe in Santa, this woman decided her grandson was no longer invited on Christmas Day as he didn't believe in him and didn't want him to "ruin" the day.
The magic of Christmas is always more exciting when you have young children to celebrate it with - getting them prepared for the arrival of Father Christmas and getting involved in all the festive fun. But this grandma wasn't going to continue the festivities when she realised her grandson didn't believe in Father Christmas.
As some families bring their children up believing in the man in the red suit - others choose to sway away from the myth.
She shared how she has three children, a 25-year-old daughter, and two younger children. She explained how her daughter, who has a five-year-old son, has brought him up to not believe in Santa Claus, and admitted she was worried that it would "ruin it" for her own two younger children who still believed in him.
"I asked my daughter if she'd please talk to her son because I wouldn't like the magic ruined for them. I still put packages under the tree with 'from Santa' on them, and leave out cookies and reindeer treats. My daughter told us she wouldn't make her son lie, and my children are old enough to understand if her son decides to say something," she shared on a Reddit post according to The Metro.

Not impressed by this answer, she revealed she told her daughter that if she wouldn't have a word with her son she'd have no other choice but for them to "spend Christmas at their apartment" instead. "My daughter didn’t like that and said I was choosing my younger children’s happiness over hers, and that I was being completely unreasonable," she added.
The grandma even admitted although her husband supports her, he thought she was being a little "high strung", but in her defence, she just wants to "keep the Christmas magic alive" for her own two young children. However, Redditors were not impressed with her harsh words.
"Eventually, the younger kids are going to figure it out and not care about Santa anymore. But [your] grandson will remember not being allowed to attend Christmas," one person stated. While another echoed: "The Santa magic will fade, but the hurt you inflict on your daughter and grandson will last far longer."
A third chimed: "Casting out your daughter and grandson to try to keep your kids believing in Santa for another year is just not worth it… Christmas is way less magical in a fractured family."
