Meghan breaks silence in emotional chat about 'personal struggles'

Meghan Markle took part in an emotional chat about "personal struggles" during a poignant solo visit on a surprise trip to Canada.

It emerged that Meghan stopped by the Vancouver office of Justice For Girls, a non-profit that helps youngsters in poverty, to chat with interns, staff and board members for a "heartfelt conversation". Meghan last visited the charity in 2020 and since she was in the city with Prince Harry to promote the 2025 Invictus Games, which are taking place there, she took the opportunity to drop in where she took part in a roundtable chat to discuss girls' and young women's leadership.

And sharing snaps from the visit on social media, Justice for Girls detailed one poignant chat Meghan had with two of the charity's interns, which turned out to be an emotional one. The organisation said: "Justice for Girls was delighted to have a return visit from Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.

"Joined by Jessica Lake and Lauri Thompson from the Lake family’s All One Fund, we had an engaging and heartfelt conversation about justice and equality for teen girls living in poverty in Canada and around the world. Together with our teen interns, staff, directors, and board members, we talked about Justice for Girls’ decades of work advocating for girls’ access to education, freedom from violence, Indigenous rights, and environmental justice.

"A highlight of our conversation was the focus on girls and young women's leadership. A feminist advocate from a young age herself, The Duchess was keen to chat with two of our teen interns to discuss their personal struggles for justice. Her genuine and understanding approach left the girls feeling heard, supported, and inspired."

Details of Meghan's visit came hours after she and Harry were spotted at a National Hockey League (NHL) game in Vancouver. Harry was pictured dropping the puck for Tomas Hertl from the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks’ Quinn Hughes during a ceremonial face-off ahead of the whistle.

The duke joined his wife in the stands as they watched the Canucks win 3-1 over the Californian team. The Invictus Games, the international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel, which the duke founded in 2014, will be held in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025.

The Sussexes’ sporting outing also came a few days after Meghan's surprise arrival at the Variety Power Of Women event in Los Angeles to celebrate the accomplishments of women in entertainment. The former Suits actress said she was "thrilled" to have returned to the entertainment industry with Archewell Productions and is "really proud" of the projects they have created so far, including docu-series Harry & Meghan and Heart Of Invictus.

She also teased future projects, saying: "We have so many exciting things on the slate… I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it too which is really fun."
