You might think there's no 'right or wrong' way to eat Pringles, but it turns out there is a way to make sure you have the 'most intense flavour experience'.

When it comes to Pringles, one thing is for certain, 'once you pop, you can't stop'. Pringles are one of the nation's favourite crisps, and although many of us love to snack on them, it turns out we've been doing it wrong our whole lives.

One social media content creator recently made the mind-blowing discovery that you can elevate the deliciousness of a Pringle even further, by making sure you eat it in a specific way. When most people grab a Pringle out of the can, they pop it in their mouths with the 'top' of the crisp facing up - but apparently that's not right.

Social media user A-A-Ron recently found out how to get the most out of each crunch, and shared his epiphany on TikTok. In a recent video on his cookinhungry account, he shared: Did you know there's a correct way to eat Pringles?"

He went on to explain that most people eat the snack with the 'saddle' shape sitting lengthways along the tongue, with the edges facing down. This is the way you'd grab them out of the tube pack. However, because most of the flavouring is on the 'top' of the crisp, which is the side most people have facing towards the top of their mouth when they eat, this isn't the optimal way.

A-A-Ron went on to explain that if you "rub" a Pringle, you'll feel which side has most of the seasoning on it. This side should be facing down towards your tongue, so you get more of the flavour.

The Pringles website confirmed this theory, and although they say you can eat the snack however you want, there are "some people" who "claim that the best way to eat them is with the 'top' of the chip (the side facing the lid of the can) facing down. Pringles typically have more seasoning on the top of the crisps than the bottom, so this way you get the most intense flavour experience".

In the comment section, people were amazed by A-A-Ron's discovery, with several saying they were "today years old" when they found out. However, others said they were "too invested" to change how they were eating them.

The saddle-shape of a Pringle is mathematically known as a hyperbolic paraboloid, which allows for easier stacking and minimises the risk of broken crisps during transport. They are actually only flavoured on one side, but this rubs off on the crisps above, giving the impression that both sides have flavour.
