Emmerdale is lining up exciting scenes as Paula Lane is joining the ITV soap as new character Ella Forster.
The actress, 37, is due to make her debut on screen in January and begins filming this month. New character Ella, who is said to be "compassionate and caring", will find herself out of a job when she sticks up for Mandy Dingle, played by Lisa Riley, who’s attending a veterinary ball with her partner Paddy.
Far from a pushover, luck is soon to come Ella's way when a chance encounter with Manpreet Sharma, played by Rebecca Sarker, opens up an opportunity and it's not long before Ella is turning heads in the village.

Taking to Twitter, now X, fans were quick to react to the news as they speculated whether Ella could be linked to Caleb Miligan and his son Nicky.
In the New Year, Caleb's estranged wife and Nicky's mum, Ruby, will arrive in the village. Soap watchers are now predicting that Ella could actually be Ruby in a huge twist. One person said: "Ruby? Caleb's wife?", a different account put: "Caleb's wife Ruby?", another viewer said: "Obvs calebs wife, then will watch Tracy gets jealous" while a different fan added: "Ooh is she Caleb’s wife?"

It comes as producer Laura Shaw told The Mirror and other press: "For New Year, we've heard mentioned before of Nicky’s mum and Caleb's wife and we’ve heard from Caleb that it's all over between them and there's nothing going on, but is that really true?

It’s ultimately gonna tear friendships apart and change the dynamics of one of those families forever."
