Meghan Markle is said to have exchanged "awkward pleasantries" with King Charles over the phone last week, with it also claimed that she is in the midst of "begging" Prince Harry to fix the Royal feud.
Harry and his father's phone call last week, which was the father-and-son duo's first contact with each other in six months, is reported to have been "polite" when he wished the King a happy birthday.
It was reported last week also, that Meghan also had a catch up with the King via the phone call, with Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, treating their grandfather to a pre-recording video. With it now believed that Charles "exchanged awkward pleasantries with Meghan".

The couple are said to be eyeing up a return to the UK this Christmas, which would mark their first since 2018 (UK Press via Getty Images)And amid the phone call that took place last week, a source has told Closer that the couple are struggling to hold onto their Hollywood hopes, which is why Meghan is making an effort and also "begging" Harry to fix things. This comes as the couple become "desperate to save their reputation", as per the outlet.

"They've already been turned down for numerous projects they had in the pipeline, including an HBO documentary, which Meghan is blaming on the fact their royal connection is fading," an insider spilled to the magazine.
The source added: "She's become extremely snappy and begged Harry to do something to prevent them from being cut off completely - even urging him to take a solo trip to talk to Charles and William in a desperate attempt to keep a foot in the door."
This comes after reports claim the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are keen to build bridges with King Charles III and the British Royal Family and would "not decline" an offer to join His Majesty for Christmas at Sandringham in Norfolk.
An insider recently told The Times: "I can’t imagine the Sussexes would decline an invitation to spend time with His Majesty. As of yet, there have not been any invitations for the holidays."
The last time that the couple spent the festive period in Sandringham was in 2018. At the time, the couple wowed onlookers on Christmas Day when they walked beside the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate and William.
