Travis' mum Donna has spoken about his romance with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce has spoken of her regret after her initial response to an awkward Taylor Swift question.

Last month Donna, who is Travis' mother, as well as Philadelphia Eagles' Jason Kelce's mum, said that spending time with Taylor, 33, at her son's football games was "okay".

During her interview with Today co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb last month, Donna said that she could not tell if the pair were going to go the distance as it was "just too new". She then said that she didn't like to talk about how she was seen chatting to Taylor at her son's games.

"I don’t like to talk about it. It’s just one of those things where everyone saw me. I was in the boxes with her. It’s another thing that’s amped up my life," she said.

And now Donna has admitted that she feels regret over her answer. Speaking to WSJ. Magazine, Donna expressed her regret when she said: "I can tell you this. He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time …. God bless him. He shot for the stars!"

This comes after the hitmaker, who wrapped her set of Rio tour shows last night, was said to have chatted to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis for more than 30 minutes last night. The phone call came after Taylor left the stage in Rio de Janeiro last night, and just before Travis was due to head out on the pitch for a game with his team.

The couple, who have been linked since September, have seemingly been going from strength to strength with their budding romance. Earlier this month the couple thrilled fans with a public display of affection that saw Taylor rush off stage in Argentina and throw her arms around Travis, before giving him a big smooch.

Taylor and Travis' parents were supposed to meet this week, but after a fan sadly died at one of Taylor's gigs on Friday, before the hitmaker rescheduled her show on Saturday, things didn't go as planned for the pair.
