I'm A Celeb's lustiest encounters - jungle sex and cave for intimacy
It's I'm A Celebrity season all over again and time for reality show fans to revel in all things stomach-churning and wince-inducing. Grim challenges aside, however, more romantically minded viewers will no doubt be looking out to see if sparks fly among any of the new campmates.
Although by no means a dating show, love has blossomed time and again in the I'm A Celebrity camp, often resulting in plenty of raunchy escapades and even alleged jungle sex. As the 2023 season kicks off, we take a look back at some of the lustiest encounters down under, as well as the hidden cave frisky campmates reportedly retreat to for some intimate time alone.

From day one in the camp, the chemistry between Katie Price, then better known to fans as Jordan, and Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre was clear to see. The flirty pair fell for each other during the 2004 series and enjoyed plenty of massages, kisses, and hammock canoodling while becoming acquainted.
At one point in the series, smitten Peter was caught heading over to Katie's camp bed in the middle of the night, sparking rumours of an intimate moment. The following day, by the creek, Katie suggested to Peter that they "could always say we were whispering", to which Peter replied: "I couldn't help myself."
During her exit interview with hosts Ant and Dec, former Page Three girl Katie, who went on to marry and have two children with Peter before their eventual 2009 divorce, insisted that nothing physical happened between them, and could be seen covering her eyes when presented with the saucy night vision footage.

Of course, had the pair joined the show from 2016 onward, they may have been afforded a bit more privacy, all thanks to a secret sex cave built right next to the famous jungle shower. A source previously told the Mirror: "Next door is a secret cave which will be hidden behind a locked door. It will be used a number of times throughout the series for our celebrities. Inside it is just a plain cave with a bench but we will be using it throughout the series for various events. The floors are a bit hard - but it can be used for romance."

Former EastEnders star Marc Bannerman and singer Cerys Matthews fell for each other during the 2007 season of the show, but their budding romance wasn't without controversy. When he first entered the jungle, Marc was still with his then-girlfriend Sarah Matravers, who watched their televised flirtations unfold with absolute horror. In an agonised interview with Closer magazine at the time, heartbroken Sarah raged: "This is a man she's only known for a week, a man who she knew had a girlfriend. It's either incredibly cold-hearted or incredibly screwed up. They deserve each other, I hope they rot in hell."
To make matters even more painful, it was even later claimed that there was footage of Marc and Cerys getting steamy together, but the producers made the decision not to air it. Speaking with the Mail Online at the time, chef and I'm a Celeb evictee John Burton-Race claimed: "There were times when the pair disappeared off together. I have to say that. I know what I know. You can guess the rest. We are all grown men and women and know what the game is." He added: "There are things the viewers wouldn't have seen or heard in there. Relationships are formed." Despite having grown very close indeed in the camp, Marc and Cerys' love story came to an end just three months after they left the jungle.

The sexual tension was palpable between The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright and Aussie model Emily Scott during the 2011 season, with the pair embarking on plenty of flirtations, massages, and even a scantily clad dip together in the pool. Mark even admitted he'd held a candle for Emily since his teenage years when he'd had a poster of her on his wall, and their mutual attraction became one of the most hotly discussed topics of that particular year
After parting ways, however, Mark admitted he couldn't see a romantic future between them, telling The Sun: "Emily is a lovely person and a very pretty girl but there is no romantic interest there for me and I am not interested in starting a relationship with her. When you are in the jungle you have a bit of a friendly flirt but that is as far as it went. I am single and want to be on my own. I won't deny she is a good catch but that is not how I feel about her."
His time on the show did help Mark get over his on-off relationship with fellow TOWIE star Lauren Goodger however, and it wasn't long before he met his now-wife, the actress Michelle Keegan.

Things heated up yet again during the 2013 season, with TV personality Joey Essex and model Amy Willerton emerging as the latest camp lovebirds. The pair bonded quickly, with Amy praising Joey's expert massage skills, and their feelings were of course blatantly obvious to others in the camp.
Following one particularly lovey-dovey exchange, Olympic swimming champion Rebecca Adlington declared: "I can't take the sexual tension anymore." She went on to joke: "It's so awkward for me and Steve [snooker player Steve Davis] sat here watching you two. I feel like I'm watching porn with my parents."
Not everything was quite as it seemed however and, after quitting the show, Amy admitted Joey had asked her for a 'fake relationship'. Opening up during a candid interview with Now magazine back in 2015, Amy confessed: "To be honest that was a horrible experience. If someone says to you: 'Hey, let's be in a fake relationship!' you're like: 'No, that's not what I want!' I didn't even know that kind of thing went on."
Recalling her response to his hurtful proposal, Amy continued: "I said: 'No you can take me on a date'. We'd been friends until then but suddenly he wanted more. I remember people saying we could be managed as a couple and when I said: 'No I want to do my own thing', he stopped talking to me, just like that."
