Prince Harry's leaked phone call to his father Charles has left the King “disappointed”, a royal expert has claimed.
The furore began last week, when it emerged that the Duke of Sussex was not attending a small family gathering - which included his estranged brother Prince William - to celebrate the King’s 75th birthday in London.
Shortly after news broke, Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson issued a rare statement, dismissing reports and alleging that Charles had not extended an invitation to the Harry, and he would not be attending because “there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday”.

The video call reportedly involved Charles chatting to his grandchildren, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, and many had hoped the call was an olive branch between Harry and his father.

However, a royal expert has claimed Charles was furious that details of the call have been released, and is pointing the finger of blame at his estranged son.
Commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo told GB News that the King was “quite disappointed” details of the call were leaked to the media, and insisted that Clarence House, the King’s private office, were not the ones behind the leak.

Charles, who is close to William, was 'disappointed' his call with Harry was leaked (Getty Images)“He's trying very much to have the focus on his public life and whilst, of course, as a loving father he's very happy to have a conversation with his estranged son, he wasn't the one who was leaking this to them to the press,” Rafe explained.
He also alleged that the Prince and Princess of Wales - William and Kate - were dreading the possibility of spending Christmas with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as it has been reported Harry and Meghan may fly back to the UK for the festive season.
“You can only imagine what the Prince and Princess of Wales will be thinking about the prospect of having Christmas with Harry and Meghan, having their private conversations pop up in the future Netflix special or in a sequel to Harry's tacky memoir,” Rafe fumed.
“Pride comes before a fall. The King’s actually stood his ground throughout all of this quite wisely and in the end now it's Prince Harry who has made a humiliating climbdown,” he added.
