It has been claimed that Meghan Markle's red carpet appearance earlier this week was an "attempt to silence rumours".

On Thursday night, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, attended Variety magazine's Power of Women gala in Los Angeles. While in attendance, the former Suits actress was adoring the limelight and looked incredibly chic in a beige-hued gown while posing on the red carpet "like a pro".

While in attendance at the event and while she walked the red carpet, Meghan was quizzed by reporters. The Duchess even spilled on her and Harry's upcoming projects.

Speaking at the gala, Meghan teased: "We have so many exciting things on the slate. I can't wait until we can announce them, but I'm just really proud of what we're creating."

But despite Meghan's brazen enthusiasm, it has been claimed that the couple's production company Archewell has struggled to find a follow-up hit after their docuseries Harry & Meghan came out a year ago. There are also rumours that Netflix is planning to "quietly allow" their £112million deal, which is due to end in 2025.

MailOnline now reports that if Netflix does decide to phase out Harry and Meghan's partnership, it would put an end to their Hollywood goals. But Meghan is clearly gearing up for a relaunch, so it's not all doom and gloom, with her instead exuding a "can-do attitude".

The outlet spoke to Eric Schiffer, who runs one of Hollywood's leading crisis management firms, with him spilling to the outlet: "It's clearly time for a relaunch of Brand Sussex, and Meghan's solo appearance speaks volumes about the direction they are headed.

"The past year hasn't been great for them. It doesn't matter to studio executives if you are a duchess or a doorman, it's about the bottom line, and Archewell needs a hit badly."

He went on to add that Americans "don't like whingers" but instead like a "can-do attitude" with Meghan demonstrating this on the red carpet at the gala last Thursday. "She hit that red carpet like the pro she is and she worked the room," he said.
