Prince Harry is said to be furious over comments that his marriage to Meghan Markle will be measured in "years not decades".

Graydon Carter, the former editor of Vanity Fair, recently weighed in on their relationship and suggested Meghan took advantage of her husband. He claimed she used Harry as a stepping stone to fame, power and wealth.

A source has now said Harry is "sickened" by the comments and has been "hurt" by rumours he and Meghan are separating. They said Harry feels upset by Graydon's comments as the journalist is "hugely respected within society circles".

"When Graydon Carter weighs in on a topic like this, important people in the highest places listen. It's going to have a domino effect as far as the perceived narrative about their marriage and its long-term prospects goes," the source said.

They said people might assume Graydon has "inside knowledge about any tension in their relationship", instead of it being purely speculation. The source said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are worried other critics will now weigh in on their relationship.

Speaking to Heat magazine, the source added: "Their enemies inside The Firm will be laughing." They also hit back at divorce rumours and said they're categorically untrue.

"It's humiliating for them and divorce is absolutely not an option - they have kids, and despite everything, they really do love each other," the source told the publication. They also said Harry is "incredibly sensitive" about Graydon's comments. They said he finds it "sickening" that people think Meghan used him as a stepping stone.

Meghan and Harry tied the knot in 2018, with celebrity pals such as Idris Elba and Victoria Beckham in attendance. Two years later, they made the shocking announcement that they would be stepping back from the Royal Family.

The couple then moved to Montecito, California, where they live with their two children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Harry and Meghan have recently been seen enjoying a number of date nights, with the pair letting their hair down at a Celine Dion concert and embarking on a romantic holiday.
