Many of us will have our favourite go-to chocolate treat that has seen us through good times and bad and it can be truly dismaying to learn that you'll have to take your cravings elsewhere. This bitter realisation sadly hit Cadbury shoppers hard after they discovered one beloved bar was no more, leading some to declare, 'that sucks'.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, chocolate lover Amy asked the official Cadbury account whether they still made the Peanut Caramel Crisp Bar, a delicious treat that combines gooey caramel with plenty of crunchy nuts and puffed crispies. The unexpected response left her, and many other Cadbury fans, utterly shaken.

To the horror of many of those with a sweet tooth, a spokesperson replied: "Peanut Caramel Crisp Bars have been discontinued. However, we still have lots of other chocolatey treats to try." This failed to comfort many followers however, with one saddened follower tweeting: "Cadbury's Peanut Caramel Crisp is the best chocolate bar they have created in years." Another fumed: "That sucks, it's our favourite."

A relatively new addition to Cadbury's range, the Peanut Caramel Crisp was first introduced back in 2017, and quickly became a firm favourite. Speaking at the time of the launch, Cadbury's Katrina Davison said: "The UK is going nuts for nuts. We have once again made sure our fans can enjoy their favourite chocolate with a new taste and texture experience they will love. The Big Taste range is all about generous layers and textures. Cadbury Dairy Milk Big Taste Peanut Caramel Crisp is the perfect example of why they're so great to share."

This blow comes shortly after Nestle announced it would be axing the iconic Caramac bar after 64 years. The company confirmed the disappointing news in an email to Pastel, a bakery close to Edinburgh, which had previously used the beloved bars to make eclairs.

In a Facebook post, a Pastel staff member shared: "So it's a sad day, it's official, there will be no more Caramac bars off the production line. It's been cancelled so I bought as many boxes as I could! They should last a while (I hope) but once they are gone, there will be no more Caramac eclairs! And no, Caramilk or Milkybar gold are not the same!!!"
