The former stars of I'm A Celebrity have come a long way since their reality TV stints - while some even quit fame altogether

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! has churned out countless memorable moments since the gruelling reality series first hit our screens in 2002.

But many of its contestants have faded into obscurity after taking on brutal trials and the challenges of camp life in a bid to be named the next King or Queen of the jungle.

The hit reality show returns to ITV tonight with a host of familiar faces - including one controversial star. This year, the line-up includes Britney Spears' sister Jamie-Lynn, TV personality Sam Thompson, This Morning's Josie Gibson, First Dates' Fred Sirieix, and former politician Nigel Farage, as the ITV series kicks off on Sunday, November 19.

But ever wondered what happened to some stars who braved the jungle that have since been forgotten? Here we take a look at what they got up to next...

Nell McAndrew (2002)

Glamour model Nell participated in the first series of the ITV show alongside the late Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Christine Hamilton and Nigel Benn. Nell came in fourth place. The series was won by radio DJ Tony Blackburn.

McAndrew has also appeared on other well-known shows such as Celebrities Under Pressure, Family Fortunes, and Dancing on Ice.

A decade on from her reality TV stint, the 50-year-old has ditched modelling for fitness. She became a fitness trainer and regularly posts about workouts and the marathons she runs on her Instagram page.

Fran Cosgrave made a name for himself as bodyguard for boyband Westlife. His reality journey didn't end with I'm A Celebrity. After leaving the show Cosgrave went on to win the first-ever series of Love Island, and won it in 2005. Eventually, he quit the reality TV circuit and now works as an international DJ. Fran is a producer and DJ for house scene trio the Futuristic Polar Bears with whom he has toured the world.

Earlier this year he told Jennifer Zamparelli on RTE 2FM: "You can't take it [fame] too seriously because it's gone as quick as it comes. As it came towards 2009, things just started to spin out of control a bit, as it does. I was kind of finished with the whole celebrity thing."

"I started saying, 'no' to loads of programmes and I just wasn't interested in it. My manager, rightly so, was like, 'Mate why won't you do any of these things?' I was just like, 'I'm not there anymore.''

Kimberley Davies (2005)

Ex-Neighbours star Kimberley Davies jungle days were short-lived after she was forced to quit the show in 2005 due to an injury. The actress played Annalise Hartman on the much-loved Australian soap.

The former soap star, who is a mother to three children, has put her acting days behind her to focus on her family. It was reported last year that she declined to appear in the final episode of Neighbours after being asked by bosses. In 2007, she appeared on Australia's Dancing with the Stars and two years later took part in the Christmas Special of Australian comedy game show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation.

Diane Modahl (2004)

Diane was a campmate alongside Fran Crosgrove and other iconic stars such as Alex Best, Katie Price, and Peter Andre. Ultimately it was Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona who took home the crown.

The female athlete won Gold in the 800 m title at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and represented GB at four different Olympic Games before she retired from the sport. These days, she leads a quiet life and is married to athletics coach Vicente Modahl, with whom she shares three children. She is also the cousin of Chris Eubank.

Dani faced her worst nightmare in the jungle back in 2008. Sadly, the former singer, now 53, lost out on the title after being voted out on day 12. She later went on to begin a career in TV, featuring in a host of shows including The Big Breakfast, Channel 4 music show, and The Word. However, the star has left the world of TV behind and resides in Los Angeles where she works as a real estate agent, The Daily Mail reports.

Australian model and DJ Emily Scott has come a long way from her jungle days. She appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2011 and was sadly eliminated from the process after 16 days of enduring harsh conditions with her campmates.

Emily continues to work on her music career and looks completely different these days. The star changed up her look, ditching her blonde locks for a turn as a brunette.
