People are utterly baffled after discovering how cookie cutters are made

Many of us will indulge in a festive biscuit or two at Christmas, but now people are questioning their whole lives after discovering how cookie cutties are actually made.

The festive season is nearly upon us, bringing with it a range of yuletide activities from decorating the tree, to wrapping presents, and stocking up on food. Many people will also be busy baking up some delicious Christmas goodies, either to give out as thoughtful gifts or as a sweet treat for the family.

Whether making Christmas tree cookies, gingerbread men, shortcake stars, or festive florentines, home cooks across the country will be reaching for their cutters to achieve the perfect shape. But the last thing on your mind is how the cutters themselves are made - until now.

Cookie cutter company Off The Beaten Path, which is based in Missouri, has shared a clip revealing how their special Christmas tree cutters are made. The first step is to make metal coils, which are tin strips rolled into a ring.

Then, special machines are used to shape the cookie cutters into the correct shape by quickly applying pressure to the circular tin strips at the same time as they're pushed against a metal shape mould. Once the cookie cutters have been shaped, they're welded before being packaged up, ready to be shipped out.

"So glad the algorithm showed me this! So cool!" one viewer commented. A second added "…that's how they be making them??"

With just 40 days left until Christmas, people are already starting to prep for the festive holiday. Just recently, one fan shared a brilliant hack showing a quick and easy way to put lights up on a Christmas tree.

The video was posted on TikTok by Maggie McGaugh, who wrote: "This man could make his own life hacks account honestly." The clip shows a guy making his way around the tree with the fairy lights wrapped around a rolling pin; and as he walks the lights start to unravel.

You can hear him saying: "I can even go faster if you want", proving how quick and easy it is to distribute the lights. People absolutely loved his clever method, with one TikToker commenting: "That's genius, definitely doing this," while another added: "Big brain energy, this is so smart." And a third said: "Love this hack, just got my tree out the loft and I'm gonna try it, thanks."

However, one person thought putting them around the rolling pin created an extra job, and said: "But you have to roll the lights onto the pin...so 2x rolling. I like it, but not for me," to which Maggie responded: "Or… just take them off this way and it's ready for next year."

Will you be giving it a go? Let us know in the comments section.
