Multiple victims shot and suspect dies after rampage at psychiatric hospital
A horror rampage in a psychiatric hospital has ended with several victims injured and local police fatally shooting the offender.
There are multiple victims following a shooting in an acute psychiatric hospital in Concord, New Hampshire, officials announced late on Friday afternoon around 4pm local time (9pm GMT).
Police received a call about the terrifying incident at New Hampshire Hospital just after 3:30 p.m. Soon after arriving, law enforcement reported that one of their officers had been shot down before they tracked down the shooter on the first floor of the sprawling building.
Just fifteen minutes later, police reported that the offender was killed in the firefight. Crews later appeared to be focusing their investigation on a UHaul in the area. Witnesses at the scene say police are searching floor by floor for any other suspects - but at this point, there is no evidence of multiple shooters.

Multiple victims shot during rampage at New Hampshire State HospitalNew Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu made a statement an hour after the suspect was declared dead, saying, "This afternoon, there was an incident at New Hampshire Hospital, which has been contained. While the scene remains active as the campus is cleared, the suspect is deceased.
"The state immediately mobilized, and first responders and law enforcement are on the scene. We will provide as many details as possible as this situation unfolds."
The Department of Homeland Security is on the scene at New Hampshire Hospital and tweeted: "We are aware of the situation unfolding at the New Hampshire Hospital. Police are on the scene and responding. Additional updates will be made available."
The number of victims is still unclear, as is their condition. New Hampshire Hospital provides acute, inpatient psychiatric services, according to its website.
The hospital is situated on a sprawling campus that includes Concord District Court, the New Hampshire Department of Labor, the Department of Revenue Administration and Employment Security.

Sexton reported he saw people being escorted out of the hospital. "Everyone is kind of being taken to an area away from the building," Sexton said.
Aerials of the hospital show an active scene with numerous police cars with lights flashing outside the hospital. An armored vehicle was approaching the scene outside the hospital Friday afternoon.
Concord police and deputies from the Merrimack County Sheriff's Department, along with state police are still at the scene.
A person with New Hampshire Homeland Security and Emergency was setting up a media centre at a nearby sports field ahead of a press conference.

Anyone who can legally possess a firearm can carry it concealed in New Hampshire under their gun laws. Licenses are given out at 18, like most states.
