Prince Harry claimed that his wife Meghan Markle was 'left sobbing' after she and Kate Middleton had a heated exchange over bridesmaid dresses.
The Duke of Sussex alleged that the pair were at loggerheads after his niece, Princess Charlotte, received the wrong size for her dress ahead of their royal wedding in 2018. He claimed Charlotte, who was just three at the time, cried her eyes out as the dress she was sent didn't fit her properly, which in turn made mum Kate upset.
Their bitter row was exposed in his tell-all autobiography Spare, with Harry claiming that his wife was sent a message from The Duchess of Cambridge that said: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on at home" and added: "She cried when she tried it on at home."
Meghan had suggested The Duchess take Charlotte to see the tailor, who had been waiting for them since 8am in the morning at Kensington Palace. However, at first mum-of-three Kate reportedly refused the offer to go and demanded all the dresses should be remade.

Meghan messaged her sister-in-law to say: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay (the tailor). He's been waiting all day." According to Harry's recollections in the memoir, she eventually reluctantly agreed to do so. However, he said the argument had left Meghan "in tears."

Harry and Meghan also spoke about the incident to Oprah Winfrey (Harpo Productions/ITV)This encounter. as well as other issues - including her strained relationship with her father Thomas and pre-wedding planning - had reportedly left Meghan feeling extremely stressed. It wasn't the first time that the couple had spoken about the row; the couple also opened up about the incident during their now infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Meghan claimed that Kate, who had given birth to third son Prince Louis just a few weeks prior to the Sussexes' 2018 wedding, had made her cry and "really hurt my feelings".
She said: "A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something pertaining - yes, the issue was correct - about flower girl dresses, and it made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings. Everyone in the institution knew it wasn't true. I am not sharing that piece about Kate to be in any way disparaging about her. I would hope that she would want that to be corrected."
When Oprah tried to get more details, Meghan stated it would not be fair to go into further details as Kate had apologised. But she did make it clear the incident was a major "turning point". "And she brought me flowers and a note, apologising. And she did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, right, to just take accountability for it."
