Prince William's 'Olympic rows' with Harry over key royal role
Prince Harry and William's fraught relationship has been in the spotlight again this week as royal biographer Omid Scoobie's new book revealed fresh insight into the pair's dynamic.
The royal biographer claims the pair are more estranged than ever, and that Harry was kept "in the dark" about the Queen's death as he rushed to be by her side last year.
The chances of reconciliation between the feuding brothers Prince William and Prince Harry are said to be at rock bottom. There has been a string of royal books exposing the feud between The Firm in recent years, and royal courtiers are said to be furious over the claims as tension in the palace continues to rise.
While Harry's move to the US with his wife Meghan Markle struck a huge blow to the pair's relationship, tensions were reportedly brewing long before the Duke decided to relocate. One royal author revealed that Prince Harry became "angry" when Prince William "hogged the best briefs" before "friction escalated" in their relationship.
Tina Brown claims in her book, The Palace Papers, that the brothers began having "Olympic rows" in 2015 after the Prince of Wales became a patron of the Tusk Trust - a rhino and elephant charity.

Brown reports that a friend of the family called Harry a "very, very, angry man" and argues the tension between the brothers existed years before Megan began dating Harry. Instead, the royal author claims that problems were present when Harry was dating ex girlfriend Cressida. Tina alleges model and actress Cressida "grew tiresome" of Harry's complaints about his family.
It has been said Cressida was the first person to persuade her former partner to seek therapy. Brown also claimed that since dating Megan, Harry has been "addicted to drama". She told the Telegraph that the late Queen Elizabeth II's grandson was "completely and utterly taken over by Meghan and his whole personality changed".
One of the most explosive allegations in the newly released excerpt from Omid Scoobie's book Endgame is that Harry was "kept in the dark" about his late grandmother the Queen's health decline before her death. It states that Harry was told of his grandmother's ailing condition and managed to board a flight to Scotland. But according to Scoobie's sources, Harry's team had to "beg" Buckingham Palace not to announce the sad news before he was informed. It reads: "His team literally had to beg for them to wait for his plane to land and they reluctantly agreed to hold the statement back for a little bit."
In response to the claims, a royal insider told the Mirror: "It appears no matter what happens behind closed doors, even in a time of such pain and grief, that where the Royal Family are concerned it will one day emerge. Nothing is off limits with William and Kate appearing to be this author’s number one target. It only takes a few months for the knives to come out again and the wounds to be opened up."
