Two 12-year-old boys have been charged with murdering a 19-year-old in Wolverhampton.

Shawn Seesahai, 19, died after being fatally wounded in the East Park area of the city, just before 8.30pm on Monday, November 15. According to West Midlands Police, the 12-year-old were seized Tuesday night and charged this evening after cops obtained a warrant of further detentionf rom the court.

The boys have also been charged with possession of a bladed article, according to the force. Both boys, who cannot be named due to their age, have been remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court tomorrow, November 17. A police presence will remain in East Park to reassure the community, police have said.

A police spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating the murder of 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai in Wolverhampton on Monday evening have charged two boys with his murder. The area was sealed off overnight on Monday, with cordons placed on roads and a blue tent erected. The heartbroken mum of Shawn Seesahai paid tribute to her 'courageous' son earlier today, saying: "He cared dearly about his family and friends and he absolutely loved to help people.

"He was a generous person and had a good personality. We will always have him in our hearts."

Earlier this week, The Mirror reported how the stabing happened just one street away from where Ronan Kanda was killed with a 20-inch ninja sword. Ronan, 16, was attacked from behind with the weapon as he walked home from a pal’s house in June last year. CCTV footage of the seconds leading up to the horrific broad daylight stabbing shocked the nation.

Ronan’s killers, who were both 16, mistook the Liverpool fan for another teen they were in dispute with. One of them had collected the ‘ninja’ sword used in the murder earlier that day after buying it online using his mum’s ID. Prabjeet Veadhesa and Sukhman Shergill, both 17, were jailed for life at Wolverhampton crown court in July.

Ronan’s mum Pooja, 46, has now devoted her life to campaigning against knife crime - starting with the online sales of weapons. Speaking about Shawn’s killing, she told the Mirror: “I’m sending the family strength. Seeing another person lose their life needlessly as a result of knife crime is incredibly upsetting. Incidents like this highlight how urgently the government must do more to address knife crime.”
