Sir David Jason updated fans on his health after being forced to pull out of an upcoming Only Fools and Horses convention to have an urgent operation.
The BBC legend appeared on Wednesday morning's episode of Lorraine, telling presenter Lorraine Kelly of the "trouble" he was having since going to hospital. He starred in the iconic sitcom from 1981 to 2003, becoming a household name across Britain.
But Sir David was taken out of action earlier this year when doctors told him, in his own words, that he needed a "bionic body part fitted". He's now "on the mend" following the operation and told Lorraine how he's feeling, appearing happier than ever as he sat down for the interview earlier today, revealing he's "doing exercises".

I'm having a little trouble getting the muscles back because I was so infirm for two to three weeks as it were. I wasn't using the legs at all, that's where I am at now, getting it back, doing some exercises. But the hip itself is wonderful." He recently shared a video clip walking with crutches after his hip operation, shocking viewers when he threw his walking aid on the ground.
His Only Fools and Horses convention has been postponed until January next year, cancelling the annual gig earlier this year, Sir Jason wrote in a statement: "I am so very sorry for the disappointment and all the inconvenience it may cause but we are having to change the date of the forthcoming Only Fools and Horses Convention.

"Unfortunately I have just been advised I need a new bionic body part fitted. I won't tell you which part it is, or you will all want one And don't worry it's not being supplied by Monkey Harris, it'll be the pukka gear. I really hope everyone will be able to make the new date January 13th and 14th. We can all have something cushty to look forward to! These events are such an enjoyable celebration for myself and the rest of the 'Only Fools' cast, and it is such a privilege to meet so many of you, but I want to do it with the smile on my face I always have had."
He concluded: "Once again, please accept my sincere apologies as it was not a decision I took at all lightly and I hope that you understand my situation. All cushty wishes until then." It wasn't the first time his health has sparked concern. It was in July last year that Sir David had a "seriously bad" battled with coronavirus.
Sir David fell over at his home in Ellesborough, Buckinghamshire, as a result, and told BBC Breakfast of the ordeal at the time. "All the muscles weren't working. I collapsed and I fell against the radiator. I was so weak, I couldn't get up.
"I tried for about a quarter of an hour, trying all sorts of things to stand up so I could walk about. But in order to do that, I had to use my head. So now I'm lying face down on the ground, and in order to get to the door – and the arms really weren't working and the legs weren't working – I was using my head to drag me to the door."
