William and Harry's relationship now - 'brainwashing, ignored texts, betrayal'
Prince William and Prince Harry's relationship is still on the rocks and 'there's no going back' for the brothers who were once best friends, according to royal writer Omid Scobie.
In his new book Endgame, Scobie has claimed 'absolutely nothing has changed' in the year since Harry's bombshell memoir Spare was published, and he believes the Prince of Wales now 'doesn't want to know' his younger brother. The author, whose previous work includes the Harry and Meghan Markle biography Finding Freedom, has said it is now 'far too late in the journey' for them to forgive and forget.

It would seem things have only gotten worse, with Scobie's claims the pair will 'never see eye to eye' and William reportedly finding his brother barely recognisable.
According to an extract of the book published in People magazine: "Convinced Harry's been brainwashed by an 'army of therapists', William says he no longer even recognises his own brother, a source said." The extract continues: "As for how [William] feels about Harry since the release of Spare, a source close to the Prince told me, 'There's a huge amount of anger there. He feels betrayed and sad about the situation. But he also doesn't agree with the things his brother feels he has done. He feels he has lost Harry and doesn't want to know this version of him'."
Scobie also states that "absolutely nothing has changed" between William and Harry recently. Detailing the brutal one-word response Harry recieved when leaving royal life, he writes: "I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a 'defector' and said that was William's view. These were two men who once upon a time were firmly aligned in their outlook. One of them had to move on to also protect the crown."

The explosive book also alleges that William ignored his brother's text and calls while the Duke frantically planned his visit to Balmoral, rushing to be by the dying Queen's side. The excerpt reports that Harry was unable to get hold of his elder brother William when it came to making arrangements to travel together to Scotland, so instead was forced to take a separate flight from the rest of his family - during which he was unable to contact anyone.

"The Palace claimed Charles tried to call Harry (sources later told me there was never any proof of this), and that there was no more time left to delay," it reads. While the Queen died at 3.10pm, Harry was still unaware when he had set off over two hours later, Scobie claims, and when bad weather conditions delayed his flight further, the news was officially announced.
Endgame, which will be released in full later this month, has been described as "a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy". The book's description reads: "An unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family."
In another recent interview, King Charles' former Royal butler Grant Harrold said that Harry and William now have a 'non-existent' relationship. The 45-year-old worked with Harry and William when they were in their late teenage years and early twenties. He said he "liked the way they got on with each other." Grant recalled: "And that's what's so sad about it now, how they've gone from best of friends to non-existent really. They have become so distant. I know quite a few of Harry's friends, who don't hear from him at all now either."
Harry stepped back from the Royal Family back in 2020, before moving to America with his wife Meghan Markle. The couple now live in Montecito, California, with their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since stepping back from The Firm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a number of career successes, most recently with Harry's Heart of Invictus Netflix documentary.
