Going on a trip with friends is always an exciting time, visiting somewhere new and exploring the sights as well as making quality memories with those you're closest to - but it doesn't always go as planned.

One pair of friends definitely made some memories while on a trip to Amsterdam, as their hotel room shower had a cheeky feature - which only a close-knit group of friends would be able to handle. However, it's maybe not somewhere you'd want to be staying if you were sharing a room with family or work colleagues, as these two pals realised they were going to have to shower right in front of each other.

Thal Jeavons, (@thaljeavons) and her friend arrived at the Fletcher Hotel in Amsterdam and were left astounded when they saw their shower situation. In the video, you can see the bed that faces a glass cylinder placed in the middle of the room - which turned out to be the shower.

An unusual place to put a shower, one of the pals went into the cubicle to show just how much you would be able to see while showering in the room, which can cost €42.28 (£36) upwards. Thal wrote alongside the hilarious video: "When you book a luxury hotel in Amsterdam and the shower's in the middle of the room."

People loved the video, and one TikToker user made the comparison of the unique shower to the scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where Augustus Gloop got stuck in the chocolate tube. Stating in the comments the name of the hotel and giving an honest review, Thal clarified: "Hotel is Hotel Fletcher Amsterdam. It's a little out of the way though so I'd recommend getting one a lot closer but it was still lovely."

Others compared it to something out of The Hunger Games, as one person penned: "This is either the Hunger Games arena… or another type of hotel," while another added: "It's giving Hunger Games," and a third said: "And then you suddenly begin to rise, being sent into the games."

"I would most definitely put up a show for my husband, but also I'm claustrophobic so I'm not sure how good the show would be," one woman jibed, and another stated: "I would make my friend go outside or to the bar until I texted them to come back."

The hotel, which is described as "futuristic", guarantees for a "care free and unique stay" according to the website, and has been contacted by The Mirror about the design of their rooms.
