Netflix thriller is so good that fans devour 18-part series in just days

Another new Netflix thriller has captured the hearts and imaginations of viewers - with many shouting from the rooftops about Pact of Silence.

Some were so obsessed with it they watched the entire 18-parter inside five days, while another gave it a seismic 10/10. The series, directed by Carlos Villegas Rosales and written by José Vicente Spataro, has also attracted some favourable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Pact of Silence follows the story of Brenda Rey, played by Camila Valero, who was left to fend for herself at birth and grew up homeless, but turned out to be a social media influencer.

The Netflix synopsis reads: “When she was an infant, four private-school kids left Brenda Ray in the middle of the woods, in a shack. Brenda grew up homeless and was sexually abused, but through it all, she was determined to crawl her way out of poverty and make a name for herself. Now she’s a powerful social media influencer with connections and resources people only dream of. But instead of luxuriating in her riches and success, Brenda wants revenge on the women who conspired to hide her birth. With the help of her manager, Alex, she’s determined to find every single one of them, including the headmistress who enabled it all.”

Critics were generally favourable to the show, with Joel Keller, of Decider, posting: "Pact Of Silence is a bit outlandish and has the potential to go off in a lot of crazy directions, but we wouldn’t expect anything different from a telenovela."

The rest of the cast includes Adriana Louvier, Marimar Vega and singer Litzy. Fans of the series, which takes place in Mexico, were so bowled over by its brilliance they flocked to sing its praises on X, formerly Twitter.
