We all like our bacon cooked at varying degrees of crispiness, but almost all of us will be able to agree that there's nothing appealing about a limp rasher with a soggy and wet rind. Even if you don't enjoy your bacon when it's so crispy it snaps, there are few of us who would say it shouldn't be crispy at all.

Unfortunately, achieving this perfect level of crispiness isn't easy, especially if you want to avoid having burnt spots on some of your rashers or parts that are less cooked than others. However, one woman on TikTok has claimed she's come up with a foolproof way to get evenly cooked bacon every time - and you don't have to change how you fry it.

The woman, named Emily, took to her @missemilybeer account to share a video in which she explained her "chaotic" method for cooking bacon on the hob that is "super crispy and delicious".

She said she starts by dumping her bacon out into a cold frying pan with no oil in it, which she then puts on a "medium-high" heat, and it's important to note that Emily uses streaky bacon for this hack. Once the bacon warms and begins to cook, the woman moves it around the pan to help separate some of the rashers from each other so that they can cook evenly.

The most important part of the hack is that Emily never uses any oil. Instead, the fat to fry the bacon comes from the meat itself as it starts to cook. She said: "You see all of the fat that’s rendering out of it, that is what you want because we're essentially frying our bacon in its own fat."

Emily claimed it's the bacon's own fat that helps it get "extra crispy", so you should never add anything else to your pan. She also said she never turns down the temperature of her hob while cooking, and a few minutes later, she was left with strips of evenly cooked bacon with a great crunchy texture and "no pieces that are almost burnt".

Commenters on TikTok were blown away by the hack, with many of them saying they couldn't believe Emily had achieved such amazing results without separating out her bacon and only cooking a few rashers at a time. One person said: "So you're telling me I don't have to only cook four pieces next to each other at a time?," while another added: "I was never taught how to cook bacon and this is not how I cook it. So thank you for teaching me."
