Strictly's Ellie says Vito 'part of her family' as romance rumours heat up

Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Leach has admitted Vito Coppola is "part of the family" as romance rumours heat up between the pair.

The Coronation Street star, 22, and Italian pro dancer, 31, have had tongues wagging ever since their first dance on the show, with many fans commenting on their undeniable chemistry. Earlier this month, former contestant Amanda Abbington appeared to confirm the pair were dating when she referred to them as "the most beautiful couple" on Instagram.

Ellie and Vito have yet to confirm or deny they are in a relationship, but now the actress has revealed the dancer has been to her house 'several times for tea' and loves her mum's cooking. Opening up about their close bond, Vito said: "I love Ellie's family."

Ellie continued: "You've been round quite a few times for tea after training. We spend so much time rehearsing together, so it's nice that they can get to know him more. He's part of the family," reports Closer magazine.

Much has been made of the couple's fondness for one another both on and off-screen. Last week Vito planted two huge kisses on Ellie's cheek before referring to the actress as "my baby" on Instagram. Revealing what they like most about each other, Vito gushed: "As a student, Ellie never says no and I love her sense of humour." Meanwhile, Ellie said she loves the fact Vito brings "fun into the training room", revealing they spend most of the rehearsals "laughing".

With an impressive number of points under their belt as they get ready for Blackpool Week on Saturday, Ellie and Vito are among the favourites to take home the Glitterball trophy. When asked about the prospect of winning, the Faye Windass star said she doesn't want to think too far ahead because it would 'spoil the moment'.

Competing for the Strictly Glitterball is famously gruelling, with stars given just four days to learn their choreography before performing live in front of millions. However, for Ellie, the muscles that are working the hardest are in her cheeks - because she spends all day smiling.

“Every day we have so much fun and I go home and I’m like, ‘Oh my cheeks!’ Ellie told OK! magazine. “We’re just having such a good time. It’s a roller coaster, but everything is just amazing. Everything is 100% heightened.”

Before Ellie joined Strictly, her five-year relationship with boyfriend Reagan Pettman hit the rocks over cheating allegations, with the pair reportedly calling it quits in May. A source told The Mirror: "She learned that Reagan had gone behind her back, and they split up. It was very sad, but for her the trust was gone and there was no way back for them as a couple."
