Liverpool head into the international break just one point behind league leaders Manchester City, having bounced back from disappointing results against Luton and Toulouse with a comfortable win over Brentford on Sunday.
A brace from Mohamed Salah and a strike from Diogo Jota earned the Reds an important 3-0 victory, following a shock 3-2 defeat to Toulouse in the Europa League and a 1-1 draw against Luton in their last two outings.

Phillips transfer stance
Kalvin Phillips was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the summer and City boss Pep Guardiola seemingly opened the door for the England international to join the Reds after stating he would "never" prevent one of his players from signing for a title rival.
However, it appears unlikely Phillips will join Liverpool in the upcoming January transfer window with The Athletic reporting that the club currently have no plans to sign a new midfielder.

Jota sends message to rivals

"We are still adapting to each other and it's still early days in the season but we will find the best ways to play together and hopefully we can keep winning matches," he told Match of the Day after their win over Brentford.
In a separate interview with Premier League Productions, he added: "It's still early doors. We need to keep winning to be able to be in that title fight towards the end. It is a long road. You never know. It's still early days and people are fighting for their clubs. That's what we like to see. Hopefully we are there at the end."

Van Dijk's advice to teenage prospect

Nyoni has impressed in Liverpool's youth setup and was one of several youngsters who made the bench against Brentford on Sunday. And youth team coach Jay Spearing has revealed that Van Dijk is a big fan of the teenager.
"Virgil came up to him and congratulated him on training with them," Spearing told club media. "He said, 'He's got a lot more to come' and he really liked him. Virgil also came out to watch the U-18s against Middlesbrough to see how Trey was playing."
