Emmerdale is lining up big scenes as next week sees two village residents hide a huge secret from their family, which will likely cause devastation.
Soap watchers will recall that Marlon Dingle was left stunned when he bumped into wife Rhona's ex Gus at hospital, where his partner Lucy was heavily pregnant. Viewers will recall that Gus showed up in the village earlier this year, asking ex Rhona for her help. He revealed to her that he was in a new relationship and wanted to have kids with his new partner but they weren't able to.
He said he had kept the embryos they had frozen while together and wanted to use them but needed her permission, as she was the other parent of the embryo. Rhona was left floored as she believed the embryos had been destroyed and after meeting Lucy, contemplated letting them use the embryos before changing her mind. When Marlon bumped into Gus at the hospital, he instantly became suspicious as the duo pretended they had conceived "naturally".
Rhona sneaks off to the hospital to try to see the baby who is in the ICUMarlon then threatened to ring Rhona to which the couple came clean, admitting they had used the embryos without Rhona's consent. Things took an even more dramatic turn when Gus confessed he even stole Rhona's passport to forge documents and fake her consent. Marlon was left floored by the discovery and has struggled to keep the news a secret, and in upcoming scenes he ends up blurting the news to a shocked Rhona. Things then go from bad to worse when Rhona finds herself driving Lucy to hospital after her waters break during a confrontation.
Now, next week on the hit ITV soap, Rhona sneaks off to the hospital to try to see the baby who is in the ICU. Rhona attempts to find out more from a nurse but is alarmed that Gus is there too. The next day, April is frustrated her parents are clearly keeping secrets. Deliberating on what to do, Rhona believes April should know about the baby but Marlon is not sure. And things take another dramatic turn when Rhona witnesses Dawn's pregnancy pains she rushes to get doctor Liam.
