A mushroom meal mum who was accused of fatally poisoning three people after she served them beef Wellington pie listed one of her properties for sale just days before her arrest.

Erin Patterson, 49, from Australia, was charged with three counts of murder after her former parents-in-law Don and Gail Patterson, both 70, and Gail's sister Heather Wilkinson, 66, passed away after tucking into her lunch on July 29.

The mum of two was also slapped with charges of five counts of attempted murder, which linked to the sole survivor of the lunch - Heather's husband Ian. Police further charged her with four alleged attempts to kill her estranged husband Simon Patterson, who was thought to have been invited to the meal as part of a reconciliation.

Patterson's three-bedroom townhouse, located in the city of Mount Waverley in Melbourne was listed on October 27, just six days before her arrest. According to Daily Mail Australia, the property was used as a holiday house, where her family took vacations. It was purchased in 2019 for $931,000. The two-storey home features three bathrooms and a double garage. It was put up for auction on November 18, with a price guide ranging from $960,000 ( 499,595.01 ) to $1,050,000 ( £545079.636 ). However, sources told the publication that real estate agents think a bidder placed a tempting offer last Monday. It has been reported that the property is up for sale because of "rising interest rates". Patterson is said to have become the sole proprietor of the holiday home in February 2021, which is around the time she split from her husband.
