Strictly Come Dancing star sparks concern as fans say he's 'not himself'

Layton Williams left fans worried after his latest appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

Delivering a show-stopping performance, the actor and West End sensation ended Saturday night's show with a bang, dancing alongside partner Nikita Kuzmin. They topped the live show leaderboard once again, marking their fourth time in the top spot throughout the BBC series.

They could be hoping that high scores from the judges will secure them a spot in next week's prestigious Blackpool Tower Ballroom after the public vote. On Saturday, Layton performed a fast-paced and emotional Argentine tango to Tattoo by Loreen with Nikita, earning them a standing ovation from judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.

Motsi, who described the performance as "iconic", said: "Oh man, what are you are doing to us... guys, speechless that happens once in a lifetime to me." Meanwhile, head judge Shirley praised the dance as going "went beyond perfection and pure art" and admitted she was "lost in the Layton magic". The judges then awarded a total score of 39 points.

While many viewers were full of praise for Layton and Nikita's performance, some expressed concern for the Bad Education star. One fan tweeted: "I hope you're ok. You didn't seem like your usual bubbly self tonight after your dance. I'm worried. Your dance was INCREDIBLE, best Argentine Tango ever on the show for me!! I hope you're proud of yourself. #Strictly #TeamLakita."

Layton quickly responded to the message on X, formerly known as Twitter : "It was just super emotional and I was really overwhelmed. Thank you everyone for the love though, wow. I hope we've done enough to make it through to Blackpool." Fans were also frustrated by judge Craig Revel Horwood's score of nine for the couple, while all other judges gave them a 10.

Another follower added: "Got home too late to vote! All of mine would've been for Layton and Nikita though. That was the best I've ever seen! Stupendous! Normally agree with Craig but is he jealous? 9 really!" A third commented: "I threw my slipper at the TV in disgust at Craig's 9!"

Someone else wrote: "Strictly they need to replace Craig he said their performance was amazing and gives a 9, the timing was as if they were dancing as one." While another added: "Bloody hell Craig, what else did they need to do to get a 10???"
