Cleaning the oven has to be one of the toughest jobs in the kitchen. When it comes to tackling burnt-on food, splatters and stains, getting your oven back to its sparkling best can be both tiring and time-consuming. But not any more!
One woman named Nicole Murphy has gone viral after sharing her genius hack for giving even the filthiest of ovens a deep clean, using just two key items. The 34-year-old from Ireland came up with the idea to clean her oven using dishwasher tablets - and saw fantastic results.
As well as placing one in the oven, she also cut a hole in a sponge, where the tablet dissolved as she scrubbed. Sharing a video demonstrating her method on TikTok (@nicolepaigelilly), Nicole quickly gained over 10,000 views from impressed followers.
"This is very effective and low cost compared to specific oven cleaning kits or professional oven cleaning," Nicole explained . "It removes all thick build-up of dirt."
She added: "It is essential to remove the oven door glass and wipe it clean after with a towel/paper towel and water to remove any chemical substance. It takes around 30 to 45 minutes the first time, and less than 30 minutes each additional time after."

In the clip, she can be seen placing a dishwasher tablet in the centre of the oven before removing the glass door, advising her followers "to be careful because the glass is what's weighing down the oven door". Nicole then cut a hole in a sponge, placed a dishwasher tablet inside, then scrubbed the oven until it was clean.
It comes after another woman shared her oven cleaning hack , which she uses just once a year. TikTok user Mac who shares videos under the username @healthylittlepeach recently revealed the homemade oven cleaning solution which has seen huge praise online. In the clip shared with her 354,000 followers, Mac said: "I'm not going to lie to you all. I'm definitely the type of girl who cleans her oven once a year but when I clean it I've got to clean it."
She then shared the ingredients for her solution which avoids any nasty chemicals. The miracle mix contains just half a cup of washing up liquid, one and a half cups of baking soda and three quarters of a cup of white vinegar. When combined together, the ingredients combine to make a white paste which can work wonders on those grimy oven racks.
