Tottenham trolled by Domino's who announce 'new dessert' after late Wolves win

Domino's have brutally trolled Tottenham by introducing a 'new dessert' after Ange Postecoglou's side conceded two stoppage-time goals to lose against Wolves.

Spurs had stormed into the lead inside three minutes as Brennan Johnson tapped home Pedro Porro's cross. That was looking like the difference between the two teams, up until Pablo Sarabia slammed the ball into the back of the net to equalise for Wolves in the 91st minute.

And there was still time for Gary O'Neil's side to find a winner at Molinuex. On 97 minutes, Mario Lemina ghosted into the Spurs box and slammed the ball beyond Guglielmo Vicario to condemn Tottenham to back-to-back defeats under Postecoglou after Monday's loss against Chelsea.

After the match, Spurs' misery was compounded as they were trolled by Domino's Pizza on social media. The pizza takeaway chain tweeted in reply to Sky Sports' full-time post: "Introducing our new dessert: The Spurs Crumble."

The tweet received over 3million impressions within the first four hours and caught the attention of football fans across the platform. One said: "Finally all is right and Domino's are joking about spurs." Another added: "Domino's absolutely savage." A third tweeted: "Bitter but very satisfying."

Speaking after the game, Spurs boss Postecoglou said: "Yeah, disappointed obviously, particularly after it happened so late, but it's part of the pain of football and when things happen in those circumstances you've just got to take it.

"Can't fault the players' effort or commitment. It was always going to be a tough game anyway at Wolves. We just couldn't hold out."

When asked about whether Johnson's first goal will be a confidence booster, Postecoglou replied: "I hope so. It's not the only measure. He's one of the ones I think could have been a bit more positive for us in the first half but again Brennan's not really had a clear run at it.

"He's had a real disrupted beginning to his career for us and I think the more we can get him into these situations there's definitely goals in him. There's more of a goal threat in him but again you could see at the end he ran out of legs because he hasn't played a lot of football since the start of the year."

Tottenham are back in action when they host Aston Villa after the international break. Spurs then face Manchester City, before taking on West Ham, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton before Christmas.
