Now that November is here, Bonfire Night is out of the way, and the evenings are getting darker earlier, it can only mean one thing - we're on the home straight to Christmas.
Some people will be completely against any mention of Christmas until at least December 1, whereas others get in the festive spirit much earlier, but when it comes to putting your decorations up, everyone's timings are different.
However one woman has branded her festive-loving neighbours as "attention seekers" as they have already put up their Christmas decorations, and she's not impressed, as they've been up since Halloween.
People will always ask "How early is too early" but this woman is adamant her neighbours have been a little too eager by putting them up on Halloween. She took to Mumsnet to ask if she was being unreasonable for calling them "attention seekers". She claimed they've "got the works" and have put up a "fully lit tree in the window, outdoor lights, Christmas wreath on the door", as reported by The Express.
"She's done this since she moved next door to me five years ago and I assume she did it before that too. Since I've known her, she's also posted on Instagram and her WhatsApp status each year on either Christmas Day or the 26th to show her decorations coming down and a general 'I can’t spend another minute looking at them' message," the mum added.

She then claimed: "If she put them up at Christmas and not at Halloween, she wouldn’t be looking at them for all that long" but then explained she understands some people have reasons for decorating early. The post further detailed: "I know there are some exceptions where decorations are put up for different reasons like someone with a terminal illness, a family celebrating early before someone emigrates etc. but those are rare so I'm not factoring them into my thoughts around this."
Users were quick to chime in with their thoughts on the woman branding her neighbours as "attention seeking" as one person commented: "I agree, but I'm a scrooge who thinks the C word should be banned until December 1 and wouldn't have a tree at all unless DD [dear daughter] and OH [other half] put it up and down each year." While another added: "I agree with you, it's ridiculous and tacky. However, lots of people love it and I suppose it doesn't do any harm. But I do judge."
