Wrexham’s chances of securing promotion from League Two have been predicted by a supercomputer.

The Welsh club is playing its first campaign back in the EFL following promotion from the National League last season. Wrexham are currently third in League Two with 30 points from the first 16 games and in the automatic promotion spots alongside Notts County and Stockport County.

Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed the takeover of Wrexham in February 2021. After missing out on promotion at the first two attempts, the 2022/23 season resulted in the Welsh club winning the National League to be promoted to the fourth tier for the first time in 15 years.

Now attention has moved to Wrexham potentially securing back-to-back promotions following the impressive start to the season. However, a supercomputer has predicted that there may be disappointment down the road for Reynolds, McElhenney, and Co.

According to a supercomputer compiled by Best Gambling Sites, Wrexham are predicted to finish in fifth place in the final League Two standings with 79 points. Should this happen, Wrexham would miss out on the automatic promotion spots and settle for a play-off spot.

Stockport, Morecambe and Mansfield Town are the three clubs that have been predicted to make up the top three and secure automatic promotion. Notts County, who secured promotion from the National League alongside Wrexham and are currently second in the table, are predicted to finish ninth by the end of the campaign.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has entered his third season in charge of the club since he was hired by Reynolds and McElhenney in the summer of 2021.

"Every promotion, title or cup you win as a manager is hard, it is really tough," said Parkinson at Football Writers' Association (North) Managers’ Awards on November 6, via the .

"It is tight dividing lines all the time and you need really good people alongside you. With the glitz and the glamour of the Hollywood owners, that's great, but Rob and Ryan are really genuine people.

"They have been so supportive to me and Steve Parkin. Not only financially if we need to get a player in but also moral support.

"Every time they come over or we've had a bad result - we got beat 5-0 at Stockport a few months ago - the first text I got was Rob McElhenney: 'Phil, we are right behind you, we are right with you', and that means as much as being supported financially."

Wrexham will resume their League Two campaign this Saturday at home to Gillingham in a bid to close the five-point gap on leaders Stockport. That will be followed by an away game against Accrington Stanley a week later on November 18.
